COPYLEFT
The concept of "copyleft" originated in the software industry, as a general method for making a program or other work free, and requiring all modified and extended versions of the program to be free as well. Within the software world, the idea also was that anyone could adopt the program and make changes to it, proceeding to further distribution, further refinements and so on. In the case of materials concerning political or informational content this privilege is modified in the sense that no alterations to the reproduced material can be made that will deny, mock, or otherwise neutralize its original intent. Cyrano's Journal subscribes to this defintion, further requiring that any use of the material must include attribution to CJO.
